Bruno de Sá – Mille Affetti (Releasedate: 25.10.2024)
Bruno de Sá – Mille Affetti
Wroc?aw Baroque Orchestra NFM Choir Jaros?aw Thiel
Mille Affetti (A Thousand Emotions) conjured up by soprano Bruno de Sá
“A talent for dazzling ornamentation, dramatic octave drops and soaring into the stratosphere above the staves,” wrote the BBC Magazine in amazement at the voice of soprano Bruno de Sá.
The Brazilian once again demonstrates his extraordinary talent in the album Mille Affetti (A Thousand Feelings).
A thousand different emotions are reflected in the arias that the soprano has compiled from operas and sacred works.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart takes center stage, flanked by contemporaries such as Franz Seydelmann, Luigi Caruso and Luigi Cherubini.
Their names are only known to connoisseurs today.
And so it comes as no surprise that Bruno de Sá presents six premiere recordings on his album.
The soprano emphasizes his choice of arias: “There are some very virtuoso things, but I’ve never had any difficulty with them because they are such a joy to sing. I hope that people feel and hear that!”
Bruno de Sá continues: “As a soprano, people immediately think that you sing baroque music, Vivaldi, Handel and so on. Of course I love this repertoire, but I’ve been singing Mozart since my first year at university and have always found it easy to access the classical era. This period speaks to me – emotionally, musically and technically.”
Gramophone Magazine also emphasized the singer’s mastery of the most demanding female roles with his soprano voice: “The effortlessness of an instrument that glides (without obvious effort) all the way to a high D and whose agility never comes at the expense of timbre.”
