Obwohl der Ausnahmeschlagzeuger viel Jazzmusik geh\u00c3\u00b6rt hat, hat er nicht so viel Jazzmusik in seiner Karriere gespielt. Der Fall wird noch schwieriger zu knacken, wenn man Katch\u00c3\u00a9s zehntes Album The ScOpe h\u00c3\u00b6rt, auf dem er tief in die Wurzeln der Groove-Musik eindringt und gleichzeitig die modernen Sounds von Maschinen integriert. Das von Arno Lam entworfene Albumcover bildet Katch\u00c3\u00a9 seitw\u00c3\u00a4rts ab &#8211; &#8220;ein afrikanisches Profil&#8221;, sagt \u00c2\u201eKatch\u00c3\u00a9\u00c2\u201c, und tats\u00c3\u00a4chlich ist Afrika das musikalische Thema des gesamten Albums.<br \/><br \/> Aber diese sinnliche Statue &#8211; mit einem Gesicht wie aus Salz, in Neonlicht getaucht &#8211; ist leicht entflammbar, wenn man bedenkt, dass Manu Katch\u00c3\u00a9 auch etwas vom Tanzen wei\u00c3\u0178 er hat es als Kind ge\u00c3\u00bcbt, geht in Clubs tanzen &#8220;und schlie\u00c3\u0178lich braucht man alle vier Gliedma\u00c3\u0178en, um Schlagzeug zu spielen&#8221;, merkt Katch\u00c3\u00a9 an.<br \/><br \/> Die Drums stehen nat\u00c3\u00bcrlich im Mittelpunkt von The ScOpe. Das Album, welches man<br \/> durchaus als Elektroalbum oder \u00c2\u201eDance\u00c2\u201c bezeichnen kann, erweitert seine bisherige<br \/> Diskographie &#8211; die eines erfahrenen Musikers, der unter anderem von Sting, Peter<br \/> Gabriel und V\u00c3\u00a9ronique Sanson engagiert wurde. &#8220;Ich habe die Tracks um das Schlagzeug  herum gebaut. Ich wollte sehen, wie sich die Leute bewegen, tanzen und singen, wenn sie es h\u00c3\u00b6ren.\u00c2\u201c<br \/><br \/> Zum Entstehungsprozess von The ScOpe erz\u00c3\u00a4hlt Katch\u00c3\u00a9: &#8220;W\u00c3\u00a4hrend dieser Phase h\u00c3\u00b6rte ich keine Musik, lie\u00c3\u0178 meinen Geist wandern und tauchte tief in meine Gedanken ein. Dann kn\u00c3\u00bcpfte ich Kontakt zu Musikern, mit denen ich gerne zusammenarbeiten wollte.&#8221; Sowohl alte als auch neue Partner bilden das Quartett von The ScOpe: J\u00c3\u00a9r\u00c3\u00b4me Regar d (Bass), Patrick Manouguian (Gitarre) und Jim Henderson (Keyboards), ein Produzent f\u00c3\u00bcr elektronische Musik, der von Yael Na\u00c3\u00afm eingeladen wurde, um einen Remix von &#8220;Older&#8221; zu machen. Und nicht zu vergessen die diversen musikalischen G\u00c3\u00a4ste auf The ScOpe, wie z.B.
