If music fortunately takes on its own secret meaning for each listener, it is the idea of urgency confronted to what we thought eternal that guided my conception of Everlasting<\/strong>. Just as constantly refreshed ink brings an etching back to life, it is also a look back into the past and a way to allow it to brush up against us, here behind a medieval melisma, there through the evocation of a ballad\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n \u00c2\u00abIt’s been a while we had not heard such an inhabited and intense soprano player\u00c2\u00bb (Jazzman<\/strong>)<\/p>\n \u00c2\u00abHe’s a monster\u00c2\u00bb (Daniel Humair<\/strong>, T\u00c3\u00a9l\u00c3\u00a9rama)<\/p>\n \u00c2\u00aboutstanding talented saxophonist\u00c2\u00bb (Aldo Romano<\/strong>, Ne joue pas fort, joue loin)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Curious and eager to work in a variety of musical languages, Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang<\/strong> was soon be known for his singular voice in contemporary Jazz. Soloist and Group Prize of La Defense Jazz Competition<\/strong>, he records and performs with major european musicians such as Daniel Humair<\/strong> (Air Libre, Modern Art), Henri Texier<\/strong> (Sand Woman, Chance), Aldo Romano<\/strong> (Liberi Sumus), Simon Goubert<\/strong> (Nous Verrons)…<\/p>\n His trio with Jeanne Added<\/strong> and Bruno Ruder<\/strong> was acclaimed by critics for their yes is a pleasant country (coup de Coeur de l’Acad\u00c3\u00a9mie Charles Cros). He continues exploring in more depth his own “Poetic Jazz<\/strong>” with this new record with the quartet he leads. But far from being a series of postcards washed up from dead shores, it is a whole, shrouded in mystery, that we are invited to share, music from within, the Inner Space as Michaux<\/strong> would say, which seeks through the forest of sounds the eternal newness of emotion.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang<\/strong><\/p>\n Curious and eager to work in a variety of musical languages, Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> activities have led him to work in the fields of jazz, classical and contemporary music as a performer, improviser, conductor, composer, and teacher. A gifted saxophonist, he has developed a specific, immediately recognizable sound and style with tenor and soprano saxophone.<\/p>\n Following his discovery in 1999 of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Soundpainting<\/strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d created by Walter Thompson<\/strong>, he integrated concepts from this live composition language into his music, constantly refining and re-working the techniques involved. He has been an active member of the Walter Thompson Orchestra. <\/strong><\/p>\n Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang is regularly invited to perform with ensembles, to teach and give master-classes in world-class institutions, including the Paris Conservatoire, the Colburn School of Music, the Geidai University in Tokyo, and has been commissioned to write works (Alla Breve Radio France, Ensemble Cairn). He performs with Daniel Humair<\/strong>, Aldo Romano<\/strong>, Henri Texier<\/strong>, L\u00c3\u00a1szl\u00c3\u00b3 Fassang<\/strong>, Jeanne Added<\/strong> in major venues, including the Library of Congress (Washington DC), the Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow), the Palace of the Arts (Budapest, and the Cit\u00c3\u00a9 de la Musique (Paris). He founded his quartet with Bruno Ruder<\/strong>, John Quitzke<\/strong> and Guido Zorn<\/strong>, and produces a distinctive body of compositions. He has taught Improvisation at the Paris Conservatoire since 2007.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bruno Ruder<\/strong><\/p>\n Bruno Ruder graduated from the CNSM in Paris in 2003 with a first prize. There he met Riccardo Del Fra<\/strong> with whom he has since recorded several albums. In 2002 he founded the trio yes is a pleasant country, still active today, with Jeanne Added<\/strong> and Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang<\/strong>. He participated for four years in the adventure of Magma (several albums and DVD), then joined Radiation 10 (Bossa Supernova – 2013).<\/p>\n In 2012, he began a solo piano work, concretized by a record, Lisi\u00c3\u00a8res, released in 2014 and awarded a “Choc” by Jazz Magazine. In January 2016, during a residency at the Lyon Opera, he created a quintet that he co-leads with R\u00c3\u00a9mi Dumoulin<\/strong>, featuring Aymeric Avice<\/strong>, Guido Zorn<\/strong> and Billy Hart<\/strong>. The quintet recorded the album Gravitational Waves in concert, which critical reception was enthusiastic.<\/p>\n Today, he is part of the adventure of Fidel Fourneyron\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> \u00c2\u00bf Que Vol\u00c3\u00a0 ?, is a member of the Orchestre National de Jazz<\/strong> (ONJ) leaded by Fr\u00c3\u00a9d\u00c3\u00a9ric Maurin<\/strong>, and is involved in the Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang quartet<\/strong>, R\u00c3\u00a9mi Dumoulin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Das Rainer Trio<\/strong>, Emmanuel Scarpa\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Blue Yonder and Le Quadrivium<\/strong>… He has played with Joey Baron, Roy Hargrove, Dave Liebmann, Tony Malaby, Kenny Wheeler, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tim Berne, Steve Grossman, John Ruocco, Daniel Humair, Michel Portal, Han Bennink, Henri Texier, Louis Sclavis, Enrico Rava, Axel D\u00c3\u00b6rner, Jeff Ballard, Karim Ziad, Guillaume Orti, Jozef Dumoulin, Tony Coe…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n John Quitzke<\/strong><\/p>\n John Quitzke was born in Link\u00c3\u00b6ping in Sweden, and grew up in Malaga (Spain). After his studies in SKFHS in Malm\u00c3\u00b6, he setteled in Paris and studied in IACP and in Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP). He soon played and recorded with Fran\u00c3\u00a7ois Jeanneau<\/strong>, David Liebman<\/strong>, G\u00c3\u00a1bor Gad\u00c3\u00b3<\/strong>. His sensibility and flexibility makes him a demanded sideman by artists like Norma Winston<\/strong>, Claudia Solal, David Lynx<\/strong>, Andr\u00c3\u00a9 Minvielle<\/strong>, Peter King<\/strong>, Ablaye Cissoko<\/strong>. Within the groups of Pierre Durand<\/strong>, Matthieu Donarier<\/strong>, he reveals a creative and singular voice on the drums.<\/p>\n Amongst his discography, Orthodoxia with G\u00c3\u00a1dor Gab\u00c3\u00b3<\/strong>, Opera Budapest with G\u00c3\u00a1bor Winland, Quand se taisent les oiseaux with Fran\u00c3\u00a7ois Jeanneau<\/strong>, Optic Topic and Live forms with Matthieu Donarier<\/strong>, \u00c2\u00a1Libertad! with Pierre Durand<\/strong> were very well received by the critics.<\/p>\n His long term collaboration with Vincent L\u00c3\u00aa Quang<\/strong> has refined the music of the quartet for a subtle balance between strictness of composition and fluidity of improvisation. Involved with the young generation, John Quitzke<\/strong> teaches Jazz and Improvised Music in Paris CRR.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Guido Zorn<\/strong><\/p>\n As a child, he switched from guitar to electric bass and then to double bass. While studying classical music at the Luigi Cherubini Music Conservatory in Florence, he further deepens and improves his experience in jazz playing and records with Stefano Battaglia<\/strong>, Fabrizio Bosso<\/strong>, Marco Tamburini, Gabriele Mirabassi<\/strong>, Cristiano Arcelli<\/strong>, Luca Santaniello<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At 23 he moved to Paris and graduated in Jazz Music at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP), with Riccardo Del Fra<\/strong> and Daniel Humair<\/strong>. He stayed in Paris for ten years where he joined the lively environment of jazz and improvised music of the city, carrying on his musical projects (Le Monde De Kota, Rockingchair with Airelle Besson<\/strong> and Sylvain Rifflet<\/strong>) and sideman activity with Alain Jean-Marie<\/strong>, Nguyen L\u00c3\u00aa<\/strong>, Youn Sun Nah<\/strong>, Aldo Romano<\/strong>, Glenn Ferris<\/strong>, and occasionally Johnny Griffin<\/strong>, Phil Woods<\/strong> and Michel Legrand<\/strong>. For three years he played mostly with French singer-songwriter Renan Luce<\/strong>. In 2012 he moved back to Florence where he resumed collaborations with Italian musicians and other passing artists (including Joe Cohn<\/strong>, Scott Hamilton, James Newton<\/strong>, Jesse Davis<\/strong>). At the same time, he continued his activity with French bands like the Bruno Ruder Quintet<\/strong> with Billy Hart<\/strong>, the Vincent Le Quang Quartet<\/strong>, the Pierre Durand Roots Quartet<\/strong>. As a performer and improviser, he has been part of the Tempo Reale Centre\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s electroacoustic music productions, working with composers Sylvano Bussotti, Daniele Lombardi<\/strong> among the others. He is double-bass teacher at jazz department of Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Florence.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
